Cultivate a future of hope & purpose for youth impacted by systemic injustice
Support gardening and mindfulness programs to help young people gain internal stability and reconnect with their roots.
Criminalizing young people
disconnects them from their culture,
their community, and themselves
And for those who have been labeled and marginalized, it’s even more challenging to break the cycle and get on a path toward success.
At Green Arrow Co-Lab, our trauma-informed earth practices build confidence, provide stability, and foster hope for a better future.
With your support, we can create fertile ground for emotional healing, practical life skills, and much-needed community for young people in Los Angeles.
When it comes to fostering personal growth, we're not afraid to get our hands dirty
We started Green Arrow Co-Lab in part because we recognized a critical gap in reentry programs, most of which tend to focus on external needs.
Our earth-focused programming addresses the equally important internal work needed to sustain success. Through youth-led programs that integrate gardening with mindfulness, we’re creating fertile ground for lasting stability.
In just the past year, we've expanded from 2 to 6 sites and reached over 200 young people. As we grow, we aim to support youth with individual coaching and curriculum, as well as access to employment opportunities as they prepare to reintegrate into the community.
We’re going to need help to do it. Will you join us in cultivating hopeful futures?
Your support lays the groundwork for healing
Our youth programming integrates somatics and earth-based practices like gardening, breathwork, and art. These resources help our youth members:
Find purpose through connection
Young adults in our program report a greater sense of belonging and self-worth. We provide the container to develop meaningful relationships with themselves, their peers and mentors, and the earth itself—creating an ecosystem of lifelong support.
Create grounding stability
Through trauma healing and nervous system regulation, members learn to develop emotional regulation skills that help maintain stability at home and work, reducing recidivism.
Develop life and work skills
By focusing on the inner work first, youth are better equipped to master practical skills and emotional tools that increase confidence, foster independence, and inspire leadership.
Every donation plants seeds of change in lives like Edin's
Edin is a Green Arrow Co-Lab leader who first found his way to our gardens six months after his release from incarceration.
Three years later, he now runs his own garden project—one he envisioned and built himself, and one that’s now a method of healing for other community members.
"I went from blood and spray paint under my nails to healthy soil," he says. Through mindfulness and gardening, he discovered new ways to process emotions and trauma.
“I recently lost a close friend and realized my former instinct would have been to get in the car for revenge. Now, it's allowing my feelings to flow, sharing my experiences with my partner, and meditating with eucalyptus oil.”
